I was very happy to meet the Dragon Boat team who will be representing China at the “Tokyo Olympics Dragon Boat Performance Event” today, and I’m also extremely honoured to be the “Dragon Boat Ambassador” and the “Olympic Dragon Boat Performance Event Ambassador”. I hope to physically support the Dragon Boat event so it can become an official competitive Olympic event.
In China, “dragon” is traditionally considered a cultural symbol and an important image, and dragon boating is also a traditional sporting event originating from China. In recent years, many more countries around the world have quickly gained interest in the sport, and it was officially made a competitive event at the 2010 Asia World Games. I hope the Olympic Games will also make it an official competitive event soon as well so it can shine at the world’s most prestigious sporting stage!
今天很開心跟東京奧運會競技龍舟展示項目的中國代表隊相聚，也很榮幸作為「龍舟入奧形象大使」和「奧林匹克級別競技龍舟形象大使」，以實際行動助力龍舟入奧！龍是中華民族的文化象徵和重要圖騰，龍舟是一項起源於中國的傳統運動，近年來在全球多個國家快速興起，並於2010年起成為亞運會的正式比賽項目，希望它早日成為奧運會的正式比賽項目，在世界體育最高舞台綻放光芒！
