For all the people on this page who try to be movie critics, take the story behind the colors and locations. Would it really make you feel better if it was put in harlem and they had gang fights? Ah, Jackie Chan, The Karate Kid was soooo much better than the original version. Such a talent you have, not only the physical ki/chi skill, but the dramatic acting was so beautiful, credible. Truly moved. China has so much to offer the West in what we need to learn in the deep spiritual reality of life force energy....but....that deep spiritual reality must take precedence over the small minds of dictatorship at all levels, in all countries....Please make more meaningful movies true to your inner spirit, and not only to entertain. Dear Mr. Chan, Your performance in Karate Kid was brilliant! I am 68 years young and this film was one of the best I've seen in many years. My daughter told me you fought for this dramatic role. If this indicates a different side of your acting ability, fight some more!!!!! I've recommended it to all my friends. Thank you!!!! When my budget allows I will obtain my own copy to enjoy over and over. Also the move as a whole was a great teaching tool for youngsters (including my 10 year old grandson). Kudos all around!

I really don't see how you can say it will take Jackie 20 years to reach that level of acting, considering he's a better actor than at least 1-2 of the 4 people you listed, take your pick. But yes, I as well enjoyed the New Karate Kid, Jaden did a superb job as well. I guess big things do come in small packages. Lol Great job you two! I suppose the soundtrack is worth mentioning, because it is quite good, but I wonder if the song back in black had any "undertone" with Jaden Smith taking over the role. Why that song when the rest of the soundtrack was SO GOOD already...for real. I didn't know whether to laugh or not.
