Jackie's Fight Against Counterfeiting

As you probably know, Jackie is committed to fighting the production and sale of counterfeit goods. Recently Jackie was featured on the cover of Trademark World Magazine:

The article discusses Jackie's collaboration with the International Trademark Association as a way to help fight global counterfeiting. "Counterfeiting has moved well beyond DVDs and handbags these days," said Jackie, who himself has been a target of many counterfeiters due to his immensely popular feature films. "Fake products are becoming popular in industries such as food, medicine, toys - even cars and planes! - areas where you or your family's safety may be at stake."

The global market for counterfeiting is estimated to be US$500 million and although Jackie is concerned about counterfeiting of his films, he is most concerned about the safety of people worldwide. The article points out that between 10 - 15% of all medicines sold in the world are fake!

Jackie speaks to the audience at the June, 2005 Anti-Piracy event at the Hong Kong Cultural and Convention Center.
