Jackie Attends the Water Cellar for Mothers Project
On April 4th, the All-China Women's Federation Development Foundation chose a song sung by Jackie, Yinshui Siyuan, as the theme song for the "Water Cellar for Mothers" project. Jackie attended the song donation ceremony along with Lin Peng and members of the All-China women's Federation, and expressed at the event that this song calls upon people to use water more conservatively. Jackie also told the press how he started using water conservatively many years ago. He recalled a time when he was filming overseas, he gave a local child a piece of ice. But because the area was short of water at the time and the child had never seen ice before, the child became so afraid that he threw the ice on the ground.
Jackie also said, "This theme song calls for families and wealthy people in large cities to be more conservative with using water; it calls for people to be more aware of the regions that are short of water - the remote areas in the country. And I knew, without a second thought, that I needed to promote the cause."
Later, Jackie told everyone a short story, "A while back, when I was visiting Will Smith's house, before I left, I took all the unfinished water bottles to the backyard. Will Smith asked me what I was doing, and I told him that we need to conserve water. Afterward, Will said to me that he's going to do what I did and conserve water."
