Jackie Talks About the Responsibilities of Celebrities

Jackie spent three hours in a television recording studio yesterday, talking to Jun Zhu, the host of a discussion program called  "Art Life." The topic of public figures and the responsibility they hold for their words and deeds came up and Jackie spoke at length about his feelings on the subject. He said that long ago he realized that the influence that celebrities have on their fans is great, and he takes that responsibility very seriously. He talked about his refusal to promote products which could be harmful and said that when he endorses something, he has to believe in it himself. He mentioned that before he would do an advertisement for shampoo, he insisted on using the product himself for three months and also checking out the qualifications and safety of the product as well.

When asked about his own achievements, Jackie said that 85 percent of his success came from hard work. He added that he loves to read books and magazines and he cuts out photos or articles that inspire him.

"Art Life" will be broadcast in China on December 2nd on CCTV.
