The whole cast of Little Big Soldier, my team and I flew to Hong Kong. But first we made a stop in Frankfurt, Germany. It is such a big airport. When we arrived in Hong Kong, it was early morning. My staff were all jetlagged coming from Berlin to Hong Kong but for me it's very normal. I had a lot of energy so I decided to go to my new office to fix some things and figure out how I want to design it. Then I went home to get ready for the Hong Kong premiere of Little Big Soldier.
Actually, I think the Hong Kong premiere was not as good as Berlin or China. Why? Because there are so many Mandarin jokes in the movie like "ting hao de" (pretty good) and "shen me xing kwong?" (What's the situation?) A lot of people don't understand. Its very difficult for me to make a movie because when you're making a Hong Kong film, China people won't understand. When you make a Chinese film, Hong Kong people won't understand! This is why when I make a movie, I have make decisions for everything - this movie is for the international market, that movie is for the China market, that movie is for the Hong Kong market, that movie is for the Asia market. Either way, I am still very happy and many of my friends and family were there watching the movie.

I went to Hengdian for seven days to film Shaolin Temple. We flew to Hangzhou first, then my stunt team picked me up and we drove 2 hours to Hengdian, China. Everybody says that Hengdian is like the Hollywood of China. I think that it is not quite there yet - but maybe in ten years it will be the Hollywood of China. I worked for a total of 84 hours and 30 minutes in one week. It was cold, hot, muddy, rainy, foggy - in one day, there are four seasons. There is nothing much that I can talk about in the film because of the contracts. Filming is filming.
Last night was very touching because it was my last day on the set. It was also the last day of Lunar New Year, and the Chinese Valentines Day. It is the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, known as yuán xiāo jié (元宵节), Everybody has to eat tang yuan, which is a sweet glutinous rice ball. A friend of mine from Shanghai brought 100 tang yuans to make red bean soup for everyone! Many people walk on the street while carrying lighted lanterns to guide good spirits home. As soon as it was my last shot and I took time to thank everyone, the six children in the film started crying. I wanted to cry too! For the last 7 days, I spent 84 hours and 30 minutes working with them. Especially the youngest one, 7 years old. Before I left, they each presented to me a demonstration of Shaolin kung fu. As soon as they finished, they continued crying! I didn't want to leave! Even now, I'm in the car driving to Shanghai, I'm thinking about them.
I promised them that when the movie premieres, I will personally send them over to Hong Kong or Beijing to watch it with me. I needed to leave them immediately because if I stayed longer, they would cry more and I would cry too. A friend of mine told them that men never cry and they responded with, "Sometimes, men cry too." So my staff said to them, "Ok, Jackie will give you an autographed picture." They said, 'No! That's even worse. Every time we see the picture, we will cry too." I think it is very funny but very cute. It was so sad. I had to turn around and leave because I could not stay any longer. You got to say goodbye somehow.
When I went home, I thought about the kids the whole night. On the way home, since it was the last day of Lunar New Year, which meant the last day to set off fireworks - people were setting off fireworks left and right of the highway. Since we arrived in Hengdian one week ago, we would wake up to fireworks (yes, even in the daylight!) and go to sleep to fireworks. I remembered Victoria saying, "wow" every night after we wrap so I told her that I would buy fireworks just for her. She did not believe me. So on the way home, I remembered and bought two boxes of fireworks for her. Even though I hate fireworks because they destroy the sky, the air, the ground - I bought it for her because she said that in New York, she never had the chance to buy and set off her own fireworks. I want to make sure that she can experience everything China has to offer. So we found an open space to set off the fireworks..and all I saw was Victoria jumping around. Then we made sure to clean everything and went home to sleep.

This morning, we woke up and packed. Many people went their own way. Cindy went to Beijing, Alan went to Hong Kong - Guan Hua, He Jun, Victoria and I drove to Shanghai. Now we are on the way! It's rainy - so I know it will take five hours to get to Shanghai. My mission is location scouting and script meetings for five days.
My webmaster, Katharine, told me some good news about my Build a School for a Dollar project. We have reached our second goal - we raised $75,000 USD TWICE! Wow, that is exciting news. Thank you to my fans for all of your support. We already built a school - I represent the many thousands of children in China to thank all of my fans for being so caring. Who knew that by me saying a few words, you all support me and my cause. Since the second goal is already fulfilled, let's start the third one! Remember, when you give a dollar, I will give a dollar too. Easy! Send the money to me - and if you make a Build a School for a dollar drawing, I will not remove the bills from the design. I will leave them on there and put the money in the account from my own pocket. Then, I promise to put the original Build a School drawings and designs in my museum in Shanghai so I can show the world how amazing my fans are in supporting the children to go to school.
Remember the public service announcement I recorded a few weeks ago for Natalie to find a bone marrow donor? Good news! I found out on Twitter that Natalie found her match. It makes me so happy. Being famous is not about fast cars and partying every day. I am happy to be able to use my fame to help other people. This is good news to me.
