The 50th Anniversary of the Military Museum
Once again, my return trip was a speedy one because I had to rush back to Beijing and participate at the Military Museum’s 50th anniversary celebratory event. I attended the event as an honorary member of the Military Museum. I think that if you ever come to Beijing, the Military Museum is definitely a place that you should visit. I’ve seen many types of war related museums before and they all look very much the same to me. However, our own Military Museum is different and it never came across my mind that our museum had such comprehensive exhibits. China has a long-standing history that spans over 5,000 years, and the items on display at the museum include a piece of stone from 5,000 years ago, all the way through to exhibits of modern-day technology and high-tech equipment that were used to put a man into space. That is why I say that this museum is definitely worth visiting. I also feel very honored because the military museum has only appointed two honorary members. One of them is Huang Liwei - the first man from China to travel into space. One of his medals is on display at the museum. The second honorary member is me, and the suit of armor I wore in The Myth is also on display at the museum.
