Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China
This morning I caught a flight back to Hong Kong and attended the Initiation Event for the Hong Kong Youth Consortium Series of Activities, Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), which was also a Cultural Carnival of Ethnic Groups.
The event was held at Victoria Park, Hong Kong, and over 430 ethnic minority youths from various regions all over China participated in this event. Although the mood during the initiating ceremony was very solemn and serious, it was still a lively and joyous event. After reviewing the historical video “The Founding Ceremony of China” followed by a large scale song and dance show called “Gu Wu Shen Zhou” performed by seven provincial regions, Liu Yuanyuan and I led a group of over 30,000 youths from Hong Kong’s main youth group organizations, universities, and youth representatives from eighteen different areas, and together we sang the theme song of the event, "Country," with high spirits. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing; everybody sang with enthusiasm and heart. Every participant at the ceremony was deeply immersed in this magnificent, inspiring, and heart-moving melody that expressed our feelings of love for our country! After singing the song, Liu Yuanyuan and I were appointed on site as the Publicity Ambassadors for the Hong Kong Youth Consortium Series of Activities Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC.

The song "Country" was specially created as a gift to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of China. Ever since the song was released, it has reached the top of many well known music charts throughout China and at the same time, it’s been repeatedly selected as the theme song for various large events and evening celebrations. This song is well received and loved by many listeners. It has been said that there is a high possibility the song "Country" might be used as the main theme song during the October 1st grand ceremony event at Tiananmen Square. When the time comes, the song will once again be played in Tiananmen Square where tens of thousands of people will sing the words “I love my country.”
After taking some photos with the youths from different ethnic cultures, I immediately rushed to the airport and caught a flight from Hong Kong to Sanya, Hainan Island.

I spend a lot of time at airports.
As soon as I got off the plane, I quickly went to the venue for rehearsals. After I finished rehearsing, I returned to the hotel and then went straight to sleep because I was just so tired.

Commemorating the First Anniversary of the Olympic Torch Relay
It’s hard to believe how fast time flies by without you even realizing it. One year has already passed since the Olympic torch relay took place here in Sanya. This morning I attended the one year anniversary event commemorating the Olympic torch relay and there were many ceremonial activities during the celebration. After it all finished, I went back to the hotel again.

When I arrived back at the hotel, some of my crew members asked me to go swimming but I didn’t go. I just stayed in my room, read the newspaper and then fell asleep. I don’t know how long I’d been sleeping for; I was suddenly awakened by the sounds of splashing water. I then looked at the clock and realized that I’d been sleeping for two hours. My crew members had been playing in the pool for two hours as well. I saw that they were having such a wonderful time so I didn’t go and disturb them. I just quietly did my homework and tried to memorize the lyrics to the songs that I’ll be performing tonight.

In the evening, I sang the song "Country" again. I think I’m going to be flying all over the place singing the song this year.
Today we commemorated the first anniversary of the Olympic torch relay. I think that in the future, I’ll be coming to Sanya every year to celebrate the anniversary of the Olympic torch relay because this special day is going to become a grand annual event for Sanya. Actually, not only was I a performer for this anniversary event tonight, I was also the executive producer, and I’ve already planned out the activities and performances for the anniversary event in the next three years.
I was very happy to see the beautiful surroundings during my trip in Sanya. On the way to the venue, I noticed how everything in the scenery; the flowers, trees, roads, streets, and many other things were so pretty. The entire city gave me a kind of green feeling, as if I had entered a garden city. I think that because of the pleasant weather and climate in Sanya, it’s actually an ideal place for tropical trees and plants to grow, earning Sanya a good reputation for being the “Eastern Hawaii.” I believe that Sanya has excellent potential for development because I think that a lot of well known tourist destinations are already oversaturated. Sanya is just starting to take off so there should be some room for development as well as attracting even more tourists to come here. When I met with the local mayor, I suggested some ideas to him as well. Take a look at this – the trees planted along both sides of the road in Sanya are so green and beautiful.

This is the hotel where I stayed; it’s a villa style hotel. In the future if I want to come and stay at this hotel, I can stay in here for free. This is the view of outside my room. I took a panoramic photo of the view outside my room to share with you:
I attended the event in the evening and I saw a piece of artwork called Fire Phoenix created by Han Meilin, a master of fine arts who is classed as a national treasure by many people in Hong Kong. Mr. Han was awarded the highest honor with the 2006 Asia’s Outstanding Designer Award for his Beijing Olympics Fuwa mascot creations. His artwork is displayed inside the National museum. Look at this Fire Phoenix; isn’t it beautiful?

There were fireworks during the evening event and I sang the song "Country" again. My New Seven Little Fortunes also accompanied me on stage and performed.

After completing the activities in Sanya, I caught a flight back to Beijing and had a meeting with director Stanley Tong and discussed a script for a movie.
