Busy Working in Beijing

Since coming back to Beijing after completing my charity trip in Erdos, I’ve been working non-stop. The first thing I had to do was organize everything related to the May 1st concert, then hold meetings for the concert, do rehearsals, participate in an activity for a television program, and many other things. I basically held meetings and attended events during the day and then rehearsed for the concert at night. I had to make the most of every minute in the day; not a second could be lost.

I’ve been extremely busy these days but I still managed to take some time out to attend the World Expo One Year Countdown event in Shanghai. This was my first time singing the song “City” in public. The song is very difficult to sing but I really like the melody a lot.

I cooperated with my old partners again in making this song; the lyrics were written by Wang Ping Jiu and as most of you might already know, he has written lyrics for many songs before. The song was composed by well known Korean musician Choi Jun Young, who also composed the theme song for The Myth. He wrote me this song as the theme song for the World Expo and he did it for free. Peter Kam and Chang Shi Lei were the producers for the song. Because the theme of the upcoming World Expo is “City”, the title of the song “City” emerged to coordinate with the theme of the event. The underlying message written in the lyrics tells us how to live in a city that is healthy and environmentally friendly. I remember sharing the lyrics with everyone in one of my previous diaries. 在北京忙碌的工作：

 

          自从完成了鄂尔多斯之行回到北京，我可以说马不停蹄的工作，首先要安排五一演唱会所有事宜，又要为演唱会开会，又要彩排，还要上电视出席一些活动等等，反正就是白天开会，出席活动，晚上就要彩排，可以说是分秒必争。

          在忙碌的日子里，今天我还抽时间去了上海出席‘世博会倒计一周年’活动。这是我第一次公开唱《城市》这首歌，非常难唱，可是我非常喜欢这首曲。这一次又是跟老拍挡合作，填词的是王平久，众所周知他已经填过很多歌曲，作曲者就是写《神话》的著名韩国音乐人崔浚荣，他免费给这首歌我作为世博主题曲，由金培达和常石磊监制。由于这一次世博的主题是：城市，所以这首《城市》歌曲就配合主题而诞生了。歌词带出的讯息就是如何住在一个健康和环保的城市里。之前已经跟大家分享过这首歌的歌词，不知道大家喜欢吗？有空听听这首歌，感觉怎样，给我一点意见吧。
