After attending the State Dinner in Washington D.C., I flew to Los Angeles for a few meetings that my agent arranged for me and while I was there I got to visit with some of my friends and do another thing I love to do - - shop at the camera stores! But before I could go shopping, I had to take care of business.
Meeting number one.

On Sunday I went to visit the Smith family on the set of Willow's new music video. When I was in China filming The Karate Kid, I spent a lot of time with Willow and Jaden and after they left I really missed them! I think that these kids are very talented and hard working and I see a bright future for both of them. While I was there I spent some time with Will Smith and his wife Jada also.

All sealed up and ready to ship home.
So many amazing things to buy.

One of my side trips was to MGM. I remember when I was a kid, I used to love to see that MGM logo come up with the big lion yowling. I hope MGM will always be around.

One of the friends I was so happy to see was singer Lionel Richie. I have known Lionel for many years and whenever I am in California or he is in China, we get together. Do you recognize my two little friends who came with me to see Lionel? Yes, it's La and Zy.I also saw my old friend Hiro. You may recognize him from Rush Hour 3:

As you probably know, if there's one thing I love more than anything, it's camera equipment. So while I was in California, I had to go shopping for hours at the camera stores. For me, being at a camera store is the same as a kid being in a toy store. Everywhere I looked I saw something else that would be good for making movies. I bought some great professional equipment for my boys back in China.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to shop at my favorite stores: Home Depot, Lowes, and Bed Bath and Beyond. You know from reading my old diaries that I love these stores! I like to buy supplies for my staff to make their jobs easier. I also wanted to go to the pet store to find some things for my little doggies and kitties, but I ran out of time. Maybe next trip I can do this!
After my shopping trip I went back to my hotel to get ready for my return to China. I will go back and finish filming 1911. On my way I looked out the window and saw something amazing - - a big "Happy Birthday Neil Diamond" written in the sky!

2011年1月25日: 在洛杉矶工作与玩乐
华盛顿白宫的晚宴完结之后，我乘搭飞机前往洛杉矶，出席经理人为我安排的会议。这次在洛杉矶的时候，我有机会跟朋友聚旧，还有做了一些我很喜欢做的事情 - - 就是到摄影机店购物! 但我去购物之前，首先要处理公事。
在洛杉矶期间，我去了参观米高梅公司(MGM)。当年我还是小孩的时候，我记得每次看见MGM的标志和大狮子的咆哮都感到很兴奋。希望MGM永远都存在。
我很高兴， 因为见到好友莱昂纳尔里奇。其实，我认识莱昂纳尔已经很多年了，每当我来加州或是他去中国，我们都会聚旧。你们认得跟我一起见莱昂纳尔的两只小友吗? 没错，是LA和ZY。
我也见都好友Hiro。你们认得他在尖峰时刻3演出过。
星期日那天，我去了Williow拍摄新音乐录影片的拍摄现场，探访史密斯一家。之前在中国拍摄《功夫梦》的时候，我与Willow和Jaden相处了一段时间。他们走了之后，我真是十分很挂念他们! 我觉得这两位小朋友很有天分，并且努力工作，他们的前途必定无可限量。我也跟威尔史密斯和他太太Jada一起聚旧。
了解我的朋友可能已经知道，我最喜爱的事物就是摄影工具。所以，趁今次在加州的时候，我当然要去摄影店铺购物几个小时啦。其实，对我来说，去摄影店购物就像小朋友到玩具店一样。无论我看到那里，我都看到一些对拍戏很有用的拍摄工具。之后，我购买了很多专业的工具给我中国的同事们。
很可惜，我没有时间到我最喜欢的商店购物，如Home Depot, Lowes和Bed Bath and Beyond等等。经常看我日记的读者可能已经知道，我是非常喜欢这几间商店! 其实，我喜欢购买有用的物品给我公司的工作人员，好让他们的工作也易办一些。我也很想去宠物店，买些东西给我家里的猫猫狗狗，可是又没有时间了。下次来再购买吧!
在商店购物之后，就返回酒店，准备起程飞回中国。我要返去为《辛亥革命》完成拍摄工作。回去酒店途中，我从窗望出去看到一个美妙的奇景 - - 天上写著"Happy Birthday Neil Diamond" (Neil Diamond生日快乐)!
