Getting close to LA and taking some photos. Of course by this time, everybody woke up!

June 27 -  30

There isn’t much to talk about because all we did was have meetings. I can’t say too much until everything is final, but there are some exciting things going on that I promise to tell you about when they happen for sure!

July 1

I woke up early to head to the airport because I was going to Mexico! No, not for a vacation, but for the international premiere of The Karate Kid! It usually takes 3 hours to fly, but because of the hurricane we had to fly around around it and it took 5 hours. When I landed, I thought – WOW. How beautiful! Hola Cancun, it was my first time there. It was warm and sunny and definitely a tourist area.

This time, there was no Jaden Karate Kid chocolate waiting for me, but this simple design from Sony – Summer of Sony , The Sequel.

Some photos of the red carpet before everything started.

I had a few moments to relax before the red carpet started. So I sat down to watch TV and enjoy fresh coconut water from an actual coconut! Anytime I have a chance to go to a country with fresh coconut, I like to take advantage and have some.

Walking down to the lobby for the event, I realized that a LOT of the lamps in the hallway were crooked. Naturally, since I am OCD, I tried to fix everything straight. They were telling me that I was running out of time so I had to leave the lamps. Besides, just on my floor, there were over 80 lamps! It would take me a while to fix everything.

We first went to the sport bar downstairs where some people were watching the World Cup games. I liked this chart because it shows everything very clearly. I like to be organized and it is very easy to see who is playing who with this chart.

When everybody was watching the World Cup, it reminded me of when the press asked me who I was rooting for. I told them that I haven’t followed football for a long time. Now if you ask me now, all I remember is Milan, Barcelona and Madrid. The other teams, I don’t know too much anymore. I only know a few football players now too! The next day, the newspaper said that I was rooting for AC Milan, and that AC Milan is not a country team anymore. Of course I knew that, but I was just telling the newspaper that I didn’t follow any teams! Some newspapers don’t even correct what I said, because I never said that AC Milan was going to win! If one newspaper reports false information, then others will do it too. They need to have responsibility and report the right things. In order for them to sell the newspaper, they are willing to twist my words around. Why are some newspapers like that if everyone working there are educated?

It was time for the red carpet to start! Many of you might be wondering – what exactly is an international premiere? Well very simple! Press from all over the world, flew to Cancun to watch and do interviews for the movie! Sony booked the WHOLE hotel just for the executives, press and talent. My assistant said that Sony was such a tease, bringing us to a vacation place to work!

The first thing Jaden and I did was say hello to the kids. Jaden is a kid, and I am a kid too (at least I think I am!) so we had to take a picture with our friends!

Soon, the interviews started. I really like the way Americans and foreign press do their interviews. They are very organized because if you take a look on the floor, there is a piece of paper taped with the TV station’s name. I really like this system because the reporters are ready and everything is very clear.

After the interviews were over, Jaden and I walked downstairs together and a wishing tree greeted us. I quickly took a piece of paper, signed my name and wished for WORLD PEACE

Then we headed outside to the premiere party. There were lion dancers, beautiful decoration and everybody was having a good time! It was a Chinese theme party! I notice that they recreated the “bridge” from the Qi Xi Festival in the movie on the dance floor. If you’ve watched the movie, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, go watch it now! Haha

 I stayed at the party for a while and saw this displayed on the wall. Isn’t that cool?

I rested because the next day was when the real work started. Remember I said that press from all over the world came? I really mean it! Everyone from Germany, Korea, England, Spain, Australia, Belgium, Japan, and more! Press from 42 countries were there, so I did MANY interviews!

We first started with a big conference in the ballroom with Jaden, director Harald and me.

First there were a few TV interviews with me and Jaden.

Then we had 4 print roundtables. Naturally, I started organizing all the voice recorders.

Since Jaden was a young boy and America has all the rules about children working for only some hours during the day, he was able to take a lot of breaks. Everytime he left me, I told him that I wish I was a young boy again so I could take breaks! In my schedule, they gave me 30 minute break, 1 hour lunch and little breaks in between. I decided not to have a big lunch and snacked in between so we were able to finish all my interviews 2 hours earlier! I must have sat down for 50+ interviews!

This is a reporter from Belgium, who bought this t-shirt in New York City. When I saw the shirt, I thought it was from a movie and kept wondering what movie it was from! Finally, he told me that this t-shirt mentioned the top 5 action stars of all time…and one of them is me! Can you guess the other four?

Finally I was done and we all went to the airport to go back home. Not even 24 hours in Cancun and I had to leave. But when I was done with the interviews, I was very happy and everybody was happy too. I think it was because of the good weather – everybody was in a good mood. Good sun, nice beach, nice weather. I was a little sad that I had to leave so soon because I heard that the pyramids in Mexico were beautiful. Next time! I will come back Mexico. Gracias for your wonderful welcome and yummy coconut water!

Here are some photos that I took from the plane. This time, it was about 3-4 hours to fly back. I read magazines, played games and organized photos. One by one, everybody started falling asleep. I already did everything and didn’t know what else to do!

Finally we landed in LA and I said goodbye to Will and Jaden. Karate Kid U.S. domestic promotion tour, DONE. Beijing and Shanghai, DONE. International premiere in Cancun, Mexico, DONE. They went home and I went to have dinner with my friends. That night, my assistant and I unpacked from Mexico, just to repack. Why? Because guess what? I am writing this diary for you on the plane - I am flying again!

Last year this time, the Smiths flew to China to start filming Karate Kid. One year later, the movie is out and we are together again promoting the movie.  Next stop when I see the Smith’s again will be the European promotion tour. But before that, I am going back to Shanghai to continue script meetings for my new movie.

时差有时都很棘手。每当搭长途飞机之前，而知道目的地的时差很大 - 我就会想: 好不好在飞机上睡觉呢? 或是不睡? 如果在机上睡觉，到达目的地后还能睡吗? 如果在机上不睡，我会感到时差反应吗? 由于今天搭晚上9点班机，所以决定不睡觉。但谁不知，我真的整个航程都没有睡! 干什么呢? 我把电脑的照片整理好和玩游戏。我看着身边的工作人员，一个接一个，不知不觉地睡觉去了!

6月27-30日(星期日至三)

到达之后，其实都没什么事情可以跟大家说，因为我们天天都在开会议。计划未定下来之前，暂时不能跟大家揭晓太多资料，但是我可以跟你说，我们讨论和计划的事儿真是很兴奋，到时确定之后，一定会跟你们分享!

7月1日(星期四)

今天一早起床，然后准备出发到机场，因为今天我要去墨西哥了! 不是去度假，而是出席《功夫梦》的国际首映礼! 平时飞去墨西哥只需要3小时的航程，可是今次我们飞行时，发现有旋风，所以航班兜了几个圈，兜了5个小时才到达目的地。当航机下降到达的时候，我心里在想 - 哗。 好漂亮啊! 喂，坎昆你好! 今次是我第一次到这里。这里的天气很暖，阳光充足，而且也很明显是一个旅游地点。

红地毯活动开始之前，我休息了一会儿，看看电视，还有福享受新鲜椰子的椰汁水! 每次有机会到一个有新鲜椰子的国家，我都会好好把握机会，好好享受新鲜椰子的滋味。

行去大堂参加活动的途中，看见走廊很多灯饰都歪的。当然，看到之后我的强迫症又发作了，想把所有灯饰整好。但是，工作人员跟我说没有时间了，所以后期不整了。何况，仅仅在我住的一层客房，有超过80余灯饰! 如果要整理所有的灯饰，我想要花很多时间。

首先，我们去了楼下的酒吧，看见有些人在看足球世界杯，还见到一幅图表。我很喜欢这幅图表，因为清清楚楚地显示了所有资料。我喜欢齐整，而这幅图表也很易就看到那一队打那一队。

看着大家睇世界杯比赛的时候，让我想起记者们早前问我支持那一队的情景。我跟他们说，我很久都没有注意足球了，如果现在要问我有什么足球队，我只能记得米兰，巴塞罗那和马德里这几个球队。其他球队我真的不太清楚。坦白说，我现在只认识几位球员! 访问后的第二天，我看到报纸写我的文章，话我支持AC米兰，还说AC米兰已经没有参加世界杯赛。我当然知道AC米兰没有参加世界杯啦，我只是跟记者们讲，我很久没有注意足球队而已! 有些报导真的不正确，因为我根本没有说AC米兰会赢世界杯! 如果一间报馆写错料，其他报馆也会同样报导错误的资料。我觉得他们应该有责任感，要有记者精神，应该报导正确的消息。可是，为了增加销量，他们愿意改曲我说的话，写出不正确的文章。报馆的工作人员全都受过教育的，为什么要这样呢?

红地毯活动快要开始了! 现在在读我日记的朋友可能会问 - 国际首映礼究竟是什么? 其实，很简单的! 世界各地的传媒朋友，专程飞来坎昆观看新电影和做访问! 索尼公司也为所有的记者，高层和演员包了一间酒店。我助手还说索尼公司真识得嘲弄人，带我们到一个旅游地点做工作!

不久之后，接受访问的工作开始了。我真的很喜欢美国人为外国记者做访问的方式。他们的安排很有秩序，在传媒前面的地上贴著一张纸，而纸上写了电视台的名字。我真的很喜欢这样的方式，因为记者朋友已经准备就绪，所有秩序也很清楚。

访问完毕之后，我和Jaden(杰登)一起行去楼下，并看到一棵许愿树。我马上拿了一张纸，签了我的名字，还有写上我的愿望 - 就是世界和平。

之后，我们到了外面出席首映礼庆功宴，有舞狮表演和很漂亮的装饰，大家也玩得很开心! 派对的主题是中国式派对! 还有，看到他们在舞台上重复制造戏里的场景，就是七夕节一幕的桥。如果你们已经看过这部电影，你们会明白我在说什么。如果你还未看，那就立即去看吧! 哈哈。

活动完结之后，我返回酒店休息，因为我知道明天就要正式开始工作了。大家还记得我刚才说过，全世界的传媒朋友们都来到这里? 我是说真的! 全球的传媒都来了，包括德国，韩国，英国，西班牙，澳洲，比利时和日本等等! 记者们从42不同的国家也到这理来，所以我接受了很多很多访问!

首先，我和杰登(Jaden)以及Harald导演在酒店舞厅开大型记者招待会。然后，我和杰登做了几个电视台访问。

之后，我们做了四轮集体访问。见到这么多录音机在台上，很自然，我又开始排好所有的录音机。

不知大家知不知道，美国有很多条例，关于小孩工作时有限制。由于杰登还是小朋友，他随时都可以休息。每次他去休息的时候，我都会对他说，希望自己也是个小孩，那就可以去休息了! 他们为我安排的工作表包括30分钟休息，1小时食午餐，还有访问之间可以小休息。但是，我决不需要1小时食午餐，只要在访问之间吃些小食，然后赶快完成访问工作。很好，我提早两小时就完成访问! 我想，我今天做了50余的访问了!

接受访问的时候，见到一位来自比利时的记者，他在纽约市买了一件T恤。当我看到他的T恤后，我心在想，我从那里看过这件T恤呢? 我脑在想著从那部电影看过呢? 最后，他给了我一个提示，说这件T恤提及有史以来5位最佳动作的明星...而且，其中一个是我! 你们知道另外那四位是谁吗?

所有工作终于完成了，之后我们前往机场准备回家去。我们在坎昆不够24小时就要走了。但坦白说，做完访问之后，我真的很高兴，我想大家也同样很开心吧，因为这里的天气实在大好了 - 人人的心情都很靓。有好太阳，好沙滩，好天气。其实，□快就要离开这里，我都有点失乐，因为我听人家说，墨西哥的金字塔非常漂亮。下次吧! 我一定会再来墨西哥。谢谢你们的热情款待，还有你们美味的椰汁水!

我在飞机上拍下几张照片，想在这里跟大家分享。这次飞回的航程只花了3-4个小时。我在机上看了几本杂志，在电脑玩游戏和整理照片。我又再次看着身边的工作人员，一个一个睡觉去了。我已经做完所有事儿，也不知道应该干什么好!

我们终于到达洛杉矶。到达之后，我与Will和Jaden告别。《功夫梦》之北美宣传工作已完成了，北京为上海的宣传工作也完成，还有在墨西哥坎昆举办的国际首映礼活动也完成了。他们回家去，我就跟朋友们去食晚饭。到了深夜，我和助手为了收拾行李，我们首先把墨西哥的行李拿出来，然后再收拾行李。为什么呢? 你们估到吗? 因为现在我又是在飞机上为大家写了这篇日记 - 没错，我又飞了!

去年这段时候，史密斯一家为了拍摄《功夫梦》飞到中国工作。一年后的今天，电影上映了，而我们又在一起为新电影做宣传工作。下一次再见史密斯一家面的时候，应该是在欧洲做宣传工作吧。但到这时之前，我会返回上海，继续为即将要拍摄的新戏开剧本会议。谢谢大家对我和新戏的热烈支持。对我来说，影迷们是最重要的，你们在官方网站，Facebook和Twitter写下的意见，对我是很重要的。如果你喜欢这部电影，说我听。如果你不喜欢这部电影，也要说我听 - 但是你们一定要说给我知，为什么不喜欢，还有怎样做会比较好一点，好让我下次可以改进。

现在我在飞机上，心理在想，睡好或不睡好呢? 哈哈!
